Allergen note
Cream cheese and similar soft white spreads are made from cow's milk, a common food allergen, and the app lists them from 12 months. If your toddler already eats yogurt or other dairy without problems, start with a thin smear and watch for hives, vomiting or swelling.
How to serve
From 12 months, spread a teaspoon or two thinly on toast fingers or soft pancake strips, or stir it into mashed vegetables or pasta. Choose plain, full-fat cream cheese over flavored or sweetened tubs; save reduced-fat versions for after age 2, since toddlers need the energy in full-fat dairy.
Preparation
Pick a plain, pasteurized cream cheese and skip garlic-herb, smoked salmon or sweetened varieties. Soften it at room temperature or loosen it with a little milk so it spreads thinly. Mold-ripened soft cheeses such as brie are different and should only be given cooked until steaming hot.
Texture and choking risk
Thick globs of cream cheese are sticky and can cling to the roof of the mouth, and it is often served on dense bagels or hard crackers that are harder to manage. Spread it thinly on soft bread, avoid thick layers, and always supervise.

Starting ages are typical guidance for healthy, full-term babies who show signs of readiness. Your paediatrician may advise differently, especially where there is a family history of allergy.
Track first tastes and reactions
Log when your child first tries cream cheese, note any reaction and see it in the allergen tracker.
